JUST ONE TREE is a non-profit project to promote the value of tree crops in cities worldwide, with an initial campaign to help San Francisco, our world headquarters, become self-sufficient in lemons. We have selected lemons for San Francisco because they are useful in many ways as an ingredient in food and drinks, and even as a cleaning agent, they produce year round in San Francisco and yet most lemons are imported from Southern California, and they offer a lovely landscape tree for backyards or even for interior environments in a sunny window.
